Actually, don’t call it a car, call it an ‘urban concept technology study’. Audi’s electric powered show car – the Audi Urban Concept, which debuts at The Frankfurt motor show this week, defies easy pigeon-holing.

Its being billed as part roadster, part single-seat racer, part city car, part scooter and is said to take some inspiration from lightweight aircraft design (it weighs just 480kg). It takes a 1+1 seating arrangement in an effort to combat city congestion.

At first glance, it looks more at home in a Luc Besson film but expect to see a version of it stuck in traffic on the A40 in a few years time.
