What interests me about the Cloud isn’t moving my files there, but what it offers in terms of downloading creative content — specifically music — to my devices. There are three new services that let you upload your music to the Cloud, and two great music-subscription services.

If ever there was a showman who knew how to end on a high note—leaving his awed and adoring audience begging for more—it is the man in the trademark black mock turtleneck. Even as an ailing Steve Jobs announced to the world last week that “unfortunately, that day has come” for him to step down as chief executive officer of Apple, his timing was—yet again—impeccable.

Recently, I installed iOS 5 on my iPhone 4. To experience the new feature of using it without the tethered aid of iTunes, I did a full restore (wiped it clean) and began fresh. The following are my observations:
